8 Indoor Activities Reopened After Lockdown

With safe practices in place, indoor attractions are reopened for fun and games.


With social distancing and additional cleaning measures implemented, the city’s newest one-of-a-kind interactive gaming centre is back in action. In teams of 2-5, climb, crawl, shoot, throw, jump and run to conquer real-life video games like Super Grid, Words, and Trench. With fast-paced game rooms and multiple levels, endless hours of adrenaline-pumping fun await. Officially reopened as of March 5, Activate Winnipeg has 141 new levels, a newly released competitive mode, a brand-new room with 40 levels of play and a redesigned reward system. Games are designed for adult players, but suitable for ages 10 and up. Clean and dry shoes required; running shoes recommended. Book online or call ahead.

Ctrl V

VR stations make social distancing easy! With additional sanitizing in place, Ctrl V has reopened as of March 5, with the added restriction that only one observer is present for each VR player. The 4,400 square foot virtual reality arcade has a growing collection of VR games for all ages, as well as a party room. Players put on a headset and find themselves immersed in a digital world. Play multi-player games with up to 8 friends. Book online.

Enigma Escapes

With their clever puzzles and team challenges, escape rooms are all the rage. Here at Enigma Escapes, teams work together to race against the clock and solve clues that will help them escape elaborate themed rooms. Track down the lost jewel of Zanzibar, diffuse a bomb inside a 1920s speakeasy, or travel to space. Because only 25% capacity is permitted, each location is currently featuring one designated adventure per week. Call ahead to book.

Flying Squirrel Sports 

Flying Squirrel Sports jumped to put measures in place that ensure cleanliness and safety for all guests and reopened on March 6! Rock climbing, arcade games, dodgeball, basketball, rope swings and Olympic trampolines are all available at Winnipeg’s biggest indoor adventure park, with 35,000 sq feet of wild fun. The bright and welcoming space has something for everyone, including a Kiddie Court perfect for little ones six and under to unwind.

Heights Archery

From Robin Hood to Legolas, everyone looks cool with a bow and arrow–and a mask! As of March 5, the archery range is open at 25% capacity and reservations are required. Spend a day learning how to take aim out on the range or sign up for classes or private lessons. An on-site pro shop offers a range of traditional and compound bows.

The Real Escape

At Manitoba’s first and largest escape room, teams race against the clock to solve puzzles and collect clues that will help them escape. Reopened as of March 5 with a maximum of 6 people/group, The Real Escape offers meticulously planned and stylishly executed rooms that transport players to creepy castles, haunted houses, abandoned subway stations and high-security bank vaults. Uptown Alley

This massive space in the city’s West End is more than your average bowling alley. Winnipeg’s newest gaming and entertainment centre offers bowling, video and prize games, high-tech laser tag, a full-service restaurant and lounge, live entertainment and more. Officially re-opened as of March 5, new COVID protocols include online booking, shields installed between each lane and a 50% capacity limit.

Vertical Adventures

One of the only places where you can scale great heights on the prairies, this indoor rock climbing facility offers instruction for all ages and levels. Reopened for online bookings and operating at 25% capacity as of March 5, Vertical Adventures offers over 5000 square feet of climbing fun.
