The first exhibition of the new Inuit art centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Qaumajuq, was curated by an all-Inuit team representing the four regions of Inuit Nunangat. INUA means spirit or life force in many Arctic dialects and is also an acronym for Inuit Nunangat Ungammuaktut Atautikkut (Inuit Moving Forward Together). The exhibit showcases old, modern and contemporary Inuit artwork curated by an all-Inuit team and the pieces, created by over 80 Inuit artists, will be displayed in the largest single gallery space dedicated to Inuit art.
