War of The Worlds

Dalnavert Museum, a National Historic Site and one of the finest examples of Queen Anne Revival architecture in Western Canada, presents War of the Worlds, a spooktacular Halloween program. Explore the creepy confines of the historic mansion’s basement and attic as you discover the ways in which the living honoured the dead and the dead haunted the living during Victorian times. To amplify the “spook factor”, the museum is decorated to reflect traditional Victorian mourning rituals and customs during the month of October. The grand finale of the program features a one-night-only live presentation of Orson Welles’ famous radio production of War of the Worlds performed by a cast of local celebrities, including reporters, radio personalities and artists.
