Ingredients
1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Method
- In a large bowl using a hand mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg.
- Combine and add flour, salt and vanilla.
- Chill dough 3-4 hrs before rolling.
- Preheat oven to 350˚F.
- On a lightly floured surface roll out dough to 1/4″ thickness.
- Cut shapes using cookie cutters and place on non-stick baking sheet.
- Bake approx 8-10 mins.
- Cool 1 hr before decorating. Allow cookies to stand to set icing.
