This meat and potatoes dish pays homage to the farmers of Manitoba.
Ingredients
4 Angus striploin steaks
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp coarse sea salt
1/2 tsp coarsely ground black pepper
4 medium potatoes
1/8 cup butter
salt and pepper
steamed vegetables
Method
Bread & Circuses uses a Rational combi-oven to prepare steaks, meaning that the meat is actually baked. The key is that heat and humidity are accurately controlled to give consistent results. At home, a special grilling pan will help retain the steak’s natural juice.
- Brush olive oil onto steaks. Use hands to rub salt and pepper all over the steaks. Grill according to preferred method.
- Steam potatoes until tender. Toss with butter. Add salt and pepper to taste.
