Lovey’s BBQ and Smokehouse
Using briquets brings out the rich flavour of the ribs. Create zones of heat on the grill by stacking more briquets on one end and slowly decreasing the amount piled on the other. This allows for better temperature control.
Ingredients
Ribs
2 racks pork ribs
barbeque sauce
Lovey’s All-Purpose Rub
4 Tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp crushed celery seed
1/4 tsp mustard powder
Method
Lovey’s All-Purpose Rub
1. In a small bowl, combine ingredients.
Ribs
1. Using a knife, remove silver skin from ribs
2. Sprinkle rub on both sides. Chill for 1 hr.
3. Preheat oven to 350 °F.
4. Place ribs in a shallow pan and cover with water.
5. Cover pan with foil. Bake for 2 hrs.
6. Drain water from pan. Chill ribs for 2 hrs.
7. With barbeque on medium heat, grill ribs for 5 mins on each side. Move to coolest part of grill.
8. Brush on desired amount of barbeque sauce. Continue grilling for 5 mins.
