Since opening in the early 2000s, Confusion Corner Drinks + Food has built a loyal following as an Osborne Village mainstay serving approachable dishes shaped by Mediterranean and Asian influences. More than two decades later, the longtime gastropub continues to evolve while preserving the easygoing hospitality that made it a neighbourhood fixture in the first place. Rustic sports bar cues have gradually given way to a darker, more refined interior with broad appeal.
An aquatic teal fireplace separates the bar from the dining room, while granite tabletops, velvet banquettes and industrial lighting lend contemporary polish to the exposed brick space. The room strikes a careful balance between relaxed familiarity and modern restraint, equally suited to a casual weeknight dinner or a lingering evening over cocktails.
Though the setting has shifted over the years, the kitchen remains committed to fresh, flavourful dishes designed for the table. Whipped feta with roasted tomatoes delivers bold Mediterranean flavour and luxurious texture. Toasted focaccia points accompany the dish, ensuring each bite combines creamy cheese with crisp contrast.
Global influences continue throughout the menu. A poke bowl reworks the Hawaiian staple with seared yellowfin tuna, still ruby-red at the centre, layered over brown rice with avocado, mango and crunchy greens. Nori-seasoned potato chips scattered across the bowl contribute savoury crunch and a playful finish. Tuna also headlines a trio of wonton tacos filled with diced raw fish, cucumber, avocado, sesame seeds and scallions. The combination is clean, cohesive and confidently executed.
The Thai cashew bowl pairs vibrant presentation with bold flavour. Coconut rice anchors crisp vegetables coated in spicy peanut sauce, with each bite offering contrast between sweetness, heat and texture.
Classic comfort dishes remain part of the restaurant’s appeal. Crispy skin-on salmon arrives with a quinoa and rice medley, sautéed kale and roasted sweet potatoes, bringing together familiar ingredients in a plate that is hearty, well composed and thoughtfully assembled.
Even after several shared dishes, dessert warrants attention. White chocolate cheesecake topped with sour cherry compote and toasted almonds delivers a rich, lingering finish to the meal.
